Holyrood Tartan Clan History

A contemporary tartan that pays homage to not only one of ancient residences of the Scottish monarchs, but also to the site in Edinburgh of the magnificent new Scottish parliament building.

The Holyrood Tartan is a design based on the Royal Stewart and was produced by Lochcarron in 1977, the year of the Silver Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. This design has proved extremely popular since its inception and can now be obtained in fabric, clothing, and accessories, in wool, cashmere and silk.
